Karen Kenney Reagan brings an amplitude of knowledge and experience to the Texas Star Alliance team. Her expertise is in advocacy strategy, message development, legislative and regulatory affairs, public policy and grassroots strategies. Karen has led highly successful lobby initiatives on topics ranging from health care to taxation to data privacy.
Karen has played a pivotal role in shaping public policy for numerous Fortune 500 companies, Texas based businesses and influential trade associations. She has served as vice president of the Texas Retailers Association and the Texas Pharmacy Association, and as executive director of the Texas Federation of Drug Stores where she led and participated in broad-based coalition efforts.
A few of her legislative accomplishments include:

carving out tax exemptions, and securing favorable tax rates for clients;

expanding the health professional’s scope of practice resulting in greater patient access to quality care;

reducing petition requirements for certain elections to be placed on ballots; and
-
securing healthcare provider protections in the insurance code, and in Medicaid managed care.
Karen is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She serves on the board of the Texas Association of Business. She is a member of the Austin Chamber of Commerce and the Capital of Texas Chapter of National Charity League, Inc., where she served vice president of Patroness Activities. She has also served as a member of the advisory board of the Annette Strauss Institute of Civic at the University of Texas at Austin and the Governor’s Texas Conference for Women, and is a former Girls Scout leader.
